Kara Guillot is an oil and gas land technician and paralegal with the Castañeda Firm. She provides the firm’s attorneys with solid and reliable assistance and is particularly skilled in retrieving and evaluating the land and title-related documents and regulatory filings that are so frequently involved in high-stakes oil and gas litigation matters.
Kara gained comprehensive experience in the oil and gas industry through her time as a land technician coordinating filings in both Texas and Oklahoma. During this period, she worked to ensure accuracy and completeness of lease packets, to obtain and track Authorizations for Expenditures (AFEs), and to create and track elections for operated and non-operated drilling and workover proposals. She also reviewed title and ownership reports, cured title defects, and researched leasehold, well data and production and Operating and/or Unit Agreements. She has drafted Joint Operating Agreements and other industry documents.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kara has lived and worked in over five states and overseas in Scotland.
