Debbie Eberts is a Texas trial lawyer with over a decade of diverse litigation and transactional experience. A former prosecutor who trained at a large international law firm, she now focuses her practice on oil and gas and energy litigation.
Debbie’s years of experience in both the private and public sectors have earned her a reputation for being consummately well-prepared, persistent, and responsive. She explains, “I firmly believe that 90% of the legwork of a case is done outside of the courtroom. My goal is to out-prepare the opposition, so that when we step into the courtroom, we know more than our client’s opponents.”
Prior to joining the Castañeda Firm, Debbie served in the Collin County District Attorney’s Office as a Prosecutor where she handled over twenty trials. Debbie also served as corporate counsel at an e-commerce solutions provider, where she counseled her clients on privacy and data protection and e-commerce issues in the United States, the EU, Canada, and the United Kingdom. She was also instrumental in the consolidation, centralization, and standardization of the company’s worldwide contracting processes, procedures, and documents.
After beginning her litigation practice at the Dallas office of a major international firm, Debbie expanded her practice into both Minnesota and Wisconsin for several years as founder and shareholder of her own firm, serving the interests of non-profit organizations, small businesses, and individuals. Her Texas cases have included representing clients in complex commercial litigation as well as medical malpractice defense in both state and federal courts.
